Redeemer congregation was started as a mission project under the auspices of the Mission Board of the Colorado District, now the Rocky Mountain District, of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and St. Johns Lutheran Church, Salt Lake City. It was financed by the Church Extension Fund of the Colorado District. In 1948, the residence at 1885 E Hillcrest Ave was purchased. Rev. H. Klein of St Mark’s, Provo, and Rev. R. Schulz of St. John’s began to conduct worship services in the residence. On Dec. 4 1949, Rev. Robert Hoyer was officially installed as the first resident pastor of Redeemer. Easter Sunday, April 9, 1950, forty-two adults were taken into communicant membership and Redeemer congregation was organized as an official member of the Colorado District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The present chapel was dedicated on March 8, 1953.

The first educational wing of Redeemer was dedicated in 1959 and the second wing in 1961. The Christian Day School began with grades 1-6. Currently the school serves kindergarteners through 8th grades, offering music, art, computers, Spanish, and after school sports. in addition to its strong core curriculum. The congregation and school communities are presently working to expand the chapel and build a new multi-purpose facility.

Today, Rev. David Fischer serves as Pastor of Redeemer and Linda Tatomer as school Principal.
